Cora Collins, 73, of Parma, Idaho, died Sunday, July 4, 1993,
at a Nyssa, Oregon, care center of natural causes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday,
July 7, 1993, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma, with Rev.
Jack Cooke of Centennial Baptist Church, Caldwell,
officiating. Burial will follow at the Parma Cemetery.
Cora was born October 26, 1919, in Little Rock,
Arkansas, to Columbus and Minnie Clinton. She lived in
the Ozarks of Missouri as a young girl. Cora has been a
member of the Little Zion Baptist Church, Willow Springs,
Missouri, since the age of 16. Cora married Floyd W.
Collins May 17, 1939 at Wilder, Idaho.
Cora enjoyed the outdoors where she could hunt, fish,
or just ride around looking to see what might be around the
next curve. She was always planning her next trip.
She made many beautiful quilts for her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Edna Portenier and
Geneva Riley, both of Parma; five sons, Clifton of Notus, Jim
of Caldwell, Floyd of Homedale, Mike of Parma, Chris of Nampa;
four brothers, Roy, Charlie and Floyd of Willow Springs, MO.,
and Chester of Oakhurst, Ca.; a sister and best friend, Nola
Watkins of Parma; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4
stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Floyd; her
parents, Columbus and Minnie; four brothers, Deb, Elza, Bill
and Lester; two sisters, Elsie and Lola; and a granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma, today
July 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. |
