Mrs. Catharine
Elizabeth Hoffman, 82, of 1705 Dearborn St., Caldwell, died
Sunday at her home.
She was born July 5, 1876, in Selsberg, Germany.
She was married Jan 23, 1902, to William Hoffman in London,
England. They came to the United States in November of
1914, settling at Caldwell, later moving to Parma where they
operated a Men's Clothing store, until 1937, when Mr. Hoffman
died.
She moved to Caldwell in 1948, where she had made her
home with her daughter, Wilhelmina Hoffman.
Mrs. Hoffman was an honorary member of the Thursday
Musicale, a member of the Presbyterian Church and a Ladies'
Association of the church.
Survivors include two daughters, Miss Wilhelmina of
Caldwell and Mrs. Doris Goodson, of Buhl, Idaho; a son,
Walter Hoffman of Oakland, Calif.; a granddaughter,
Jeanne Goodson, Chicago, Ill.
Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel in Parma. Dr. C. Warren Van
Camp will officiate. Interment will be in the Parma
Cemetery. |
