Bertha M. Coats

     Services for Bertha M. Coats, 89, of 2814 S. Indiana, Caldwell, who died Wednesday, June 15, at a Caldwell nursing home of natural causes, will be conducted at 1030 a.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by Pastor Dwight Steele of the First Baptist Church, Caldwell officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wilder Cemetery, Wilder.
     She was born Feb. 25, 1894, at Cedar Valley, Mo., the daughter of Moses E. and Adaline K. McCormick.  she moved with her family to Weiser in April of 1902, where she attended school.  She attended Teacher's Normal School at Boise and taught in rural schools near Weiser.
     She married Henry O. Coats on Nov. 30, 1917, at Caldwell.  They made their home at Weiser until 1942, when they moved to Wilder.  They came to Caldwell in 1964.  Mr. Coats died in 1965.
     She is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert A. and Eleanor Coats of Columbia, S.C., and William O. (Bill) and Dorothy Coats of Caldwell; a daughter and her husband, B. Jean and Sam Walbey of Caldwell; a sister, Alma Main of Cascade; five grandchildren, George Coats, Virginia Dodson, Judy Giardina, Dennis Coats and Jerry Walbey; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
     Friends may call at the chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
     The family suggests memorials be made to the Heart Fund or a favorite charity.
