Bertha Applegate

     Graveside services for Bertha Mae Applegate, 93, of Wilder, who died Wednesday, Dec. 22, in a Nampa nursing home, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Wilder Cemetery by Pastor Keith Yarter of the Golden Gate Baptist Church, Wilder, under the direction of Chapel of the Chimes, Meridian.
     She was born July 22, 1889, at Ava, Mo.  She moved with her parents to Oklahoma where she was reared and educated.  She married Preston Applegate on Dec. 25, 1910, in Oklahoma.  They moved to Caldwell in 1926 and then moved to a farm at Wilder in 1942.  Her husband died in June of 1964.
     She is survived by four sons, Ab Applegate of Wilder, Delbert Applegate of Ellensburg, Wash., Robert Applegate of Boise and Melvin Applegate of Council; one daughter, Mrs. LeRoy (Lorie) Holmes of Seattle; 14 grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-great-step-grandchildren.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Golden Gate Baptist Church of Wilder in her memory.
