Mrs. Bessie Townsend

     Mrs. Bessie Townsend, 76, of Homedale, died Tuesday morning at a Homedale nursing home.
     She was born July 21, 1882, at Shoshone, Idaho, and moved to Silver City, Idaho with her parents when she was three years of age and was reared there.
     She was married on Oct. 26, 1900, to Albert V. Townsend at Caldwell.  She and her husband resided on a ranch at Flint Creek near Jordan Valley in 1918.
     They lived at Wagontown where Mr. Townsend operated a quartz-stamp mill, and lived at Delamar and Dewey before moving to Homedale in 1950.
     Mr. Townsend preceded her in death in 1950.
     She was a member of the Methodist Church.
     Survivors include her stepmother, Mrs. Eliza Henderson, San Rafael, Calif.;  five sons, Everett of Jordan Valley, John of Anchorage, Alaska, Ralph, Bend, Ore., Darley of Homedale, and Claude Townsend of Twin Falls;  three daughters, Mrs. Ada Thomas, Mrs. Charlotte Pierce and Mrs. Margaret Millspaugh, all of Homedale;  27 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
     Arrangements are pending at the Peckham-Dakan-Davis Chapel.
