A. William Asp

     Funeral services for A. William Asp, 88, Garden Valley, who died Wed. April 20 at a Boise hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 25 at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Bob Keyes of Donnelly Bible Church, Donnelly.  Interment will follow at Roswell Cemetery, Roswell.
     He was born Jan. 16, 1895 at Astoria, Ore., to Andrew and Maria Asp, and moved to Arena Valley in 1908.  He served as a member of the 23rd Engineers stationed in France during World War I.
     He married Marie Heterick of Wilder on May 18, 1928 at Roswell.  They farmed in the Arena Valley for a number of years, then moved to Garden Valley, where they operated the Garden Valley Store for many years.  He later worked in road construction and logging.
     He is survived by his wife of Garden Valley; a daughter, Velma Coulter, Garden Valley; two sisters, Hannah Johanson of Madras, Ore. and Eva Kniefel, Caldwell; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
     Friends may call at the chapel on Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m.
