Arden Atkinson

     Arden Lee Atkinson, 68, of Parma, died Sunday, October 3, 1994, at his home of natural causes.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 1994, at the Parma Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  First ? Clyde Moses will officiate with interment with interment following at the Parma Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
     Mr. Atkinson was born April 6, 1926, at Francis, Utah, the son of James Llwellian Atkinson and Martha Ellen Corbett Atkinson.  He went to school in Francis and Kamas, Utah, until the age of 17 when he joined the Merchant Marines.  He spent his service time in the Aleutian Islands.
     In December of 1944 he came to Emmett to visit his mother and met Pauline Hale.  They were married in Letha, Idaho, in November of 1945.  They lived and farmed on the Emmett Bench where their sons, Ronald and Darrel Atkinson were born.  Shortly after Darrel was born they moved to Kamas, Utah, and then to Afton, Wyoming, where they were engaged in the trucking business.  In 1953, another son, Lewis was born.  They came to Parma in 1956 where they have since resided.
     Mr. Atkinson is survived by his wife, Pauline of Parma; three sons, Ronald L. Atkinson of Parma, Darrel W. Atkinson of Omak, Washington, and Lewis D. Atkinson of Parma three brothers, Reed Atkinson of Kamas, Utah, Gene Atkinson of Emmett, Idaho, and Kendall Atkinson of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Alene Rich of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Carma Marshall of Jacksonville, Oregon; his grandchildren, Roni Marley of Kona, Hawaii, Lore and Jared Stockett of Moscow, Idaho, Brian Atkinson and Jesse Atkinson, both of Parma, Cheryl and Jay Myers of Rexburg, Idaho, Terra Atkinson of Boise, Christopher Atkinson of Deer Park, California, Julie Atkinson, Karen Atkinson, Jamie Atkinson, Brent Atkinson and Kaylee Atkinson, all of Parma and Ryan O'Mara of Seattle, Washington; a great grandson, Jacob Marley of Kona Hawaii; his stepgrandchildren, Leanne Whittle of Eldon, Missouri, Joylyn McChesnie of Hope, Idaho, and Denise Houser of Tecumseh, Missouri; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Nathan and Caleb Whittle, Dwayne and Joshua McChesnie and Dezirae and Dylan Houser.
     He was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers and one sister.
     Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel in Parma from 6 to 3 p.m. Tuesday evening and in the Relief Society Room at the church from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. prior to services.
