Lars B. Aarland
Of Wilder
Dies Wednesday

    Lars Burton Aarland, 59, who came to South Dakota from Norway 38 years ago, and came to the Wilder community in 1906, where he was among the first homesteaders, died Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital.
    The body is at the Peckham Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.  services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church in Wilder, with the Rev. Mr. Douglas in charge.  Interment will be in the Wilder cemetery.
    Aarland was born in Norway on February 17, 1881.  At the age of 21 he came to the United States locating in South Dakota for several years before coming to Wilder community in 1906, where he has continued to reside with his family on the place he first homesteaded, now located ab out one half mile south of the Arena Valley school hgouse.
    He was an active member of the Masonic lodge and Eastern Star chapter of Wilder and a prominent member of the Wilder grange.
