CALDWELL
— Jack "Duke" Sherman, 46, 1518 Missoula Way, Caldwell, died Saturday at a Caldwell hospital.
He was born March
4, 1927 in Cambridge, Neb.
He moved to Idaho at the age
of 6 with his parents and they settled in the
Caldwell
area. He graduated from Caldwell High School, attended the
University
of Utah and graduated
from the College of Idaho. He had taught school and coached
in Middleton. He worked for Kit Manufacturing Co. and for
Willis Shaw Forezen Express of
Boise.
He married June
Rothenberger while serving in the Navy. He later married
Barbara Peckham on Dec. 31, 1964 in Caldwell and she died in
1967. He married Margaret R. Brown on May 23, 1973 in Caldwell.
He was a member of the Congregational Church in
Nebraska.
Survivors are his
wife, Margaret, of Caldwell; three sons, Ralph Sherman of
Caldwell, Michael and Jon Sherman, both of Orange, Calif.; a
stepdaughter, Polly Ann Peckham, Salt Lake City, Utah; his
mother, Hazel Sherman of Caldwell; a sister, Karen Capps, of
Sumner, Wash.; and a stepdaughter, Robin Brown, and two
stepsons, Marty and Todd Brown, all at home. He was preceded
in death by his father, Bud Sherman, in 1972.
Services will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Boone Memorial
Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Gene Hemenway. Interment will
be at Middleton
Cemetery.
Memorials may be
given to the Duke Sherman athletic fund at
College
of Idaho. |
