Johnny Salinas

    Johnny Garcia Salinas, 35, of Nampa, died Saturday, May 21, 1994, in the Nampa hospital.  Vigil Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
    Johnny was born June 9, 1958, at Stanfield, Ariz., a son of Rafael and Maria Garcia Salinas, and in 1963, moved with his family to Nampa.  He grew up and attended schools here.  He worked as a seasonal farm laborer for a time.  He married Grace Mary Herrera July 31, 1977, in Nampa and they made their home here.  He later worked as a fire fighter for the Bureau of Land Management.
    He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Nampa.
    Survivors include his wife, Grace of Nampa; one son, Richard Garcia Salinas and three daughters, Stacy M., Erica S. and Krystal A. Salinas, all four of the home; his parents, Rafael and Maria Salinas of Nampa; seven brothers, Santos and Anthony Salinas, both of Burley, Armando Salinas of Boise, Jose, and Joe and Manuel Salinas, all of Nampa, and Jesse Salinas of Callaway, Minnesota; four sisters, Maria Gonzales and Geneva Usog, both of Nampa, Olivia Garza of Ogden, Utah, and Juanita Hernandez of Delano, Calif.; two Godchildren, Carlos Catellanos of Nampa and Amanda Garza Olvera of Layton, Utah; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by one brother, Rafael Salinas Jr.
