Joseph F. Schmidt

    CALDWELL — Services for Joseph F. Schmidt, 56, of 121 W. Hazel, who died Sunday at a Caldwell hospital, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by Thomas Blackburn, Garden City Community Christian Center.  Interment will be in Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, with concluding services by Caldwell Elks Lodge No. 1448.
    He was born Aug. 28, 1920, at Caldwell, where he was reared and educated.  He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1939.  He served in the Army from 1942 until 1944.
    He married Bonnie Bruno Nov. 15, 1947, in Caldwell, where they had lived since.  He had been in the paint-contracting business since his discharge from the Army.
    Surviving are his wife, Caldwell, and a brother Harry P., Garden Grove, Calif.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale.
    Pallbearers will be Harry Stewart, Harry and Brent Andrae, Bob Potts, Joe Bottoms and Darrell Davis.
