BRIGHT PARMA GIRL AT HOSPITALs
Miss Grace
Castater Succumbs to Effects of an Operation for Appendicitis
- Was Popular Student at college of Idaho in Caldwell - Will
be Buried in Parma |
Miss Grace Castater of Parma, who was operated upon last
Tuesday at St. Alphonsus' hospital for appendicitis, died at 6
o'clock last evening as a result of the operation. While
she had been palpably ill for only a fortnight, the operation
showed that the disease had seized her upwards of a year ago
and the knife was used too late. Miss
Castater, who was 18 years old, was an exceedingly
lovable girl. She had lived for many years at Parma with
her parents who were at her bedside when she passed away.
When taken ill Miss Castater was a student at the college of
Idaho in Caldwell and was one of the brightest and most
popular pupils. Several of her friends came over to see
her during the week and all are deeply shocked by her death.
The body will be taken to par4ma today. No arrangements
have been made for the funeral. |

FUNERAL OF MISS CASTATERs
People of Parma Pay
Last Tribute to Well Known Young Woman |
PARMA - Oct. 27. - The funeral of Miss Grace Castater who died
at St. Alphonsus' hospital Saturday was held at the family
residence here yesterday afternoon. It was largely
attended by friends. Rev. Boone, professor in the
College of Idaho of Caldwell, where she was a student when
taken ill, preached a beautiful and impressive sermon touching
on her life as a friend, as a student and as one who looked
upon life seriously, doing much for the comfort of those
around her. The teachers and students of
the college also attended - six of the young men acting as
pallbearers. The public schools here and at Lower Boise
were dismissed, everyone paying the last tribute to the dead.
Miss Castater was born in Illinois 18 years ago, where she has
won the esteem of many friends who extend deepest sympathy and
condolence to those who so deeply mourn her and especially the
father and mother in the loss of their only daughter. |
