Adam Schreiner

    Services for Adam Schreiner, 64, Notus, who died Tuesday, July 30, in a Caldwell hospital of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Interment will follow in the Greenleaf Cemetery.
    Mr. Schreiner was born Feb. 25, 1921, at Lincoln. Neb., where he was reared and educated.  He farmed in Nebraska before his enlistment in the U.S. Navy during World War II on Jan. 19, 1942.  He held the rank of coxswain first class and received the following medals: the Victory Medal, American Area Medal, two Bronze Stars, the Asiatic Pacific Medal with three stars and the Philippines Liberation Medal.  He was discharged Dec. 8, 1945, and returned to Nebraska where he farmed.
    He married Esther Rupp on Dec. 24, 1947, at Lincoln, Neb.  They moved to Torrance, Calif., 1961, where he was employed by H.I. Tullis for 23 years.  He retired in 1984 and moved to Notus.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
    He is survived by his wife of Notus; his mother, Molly Schreiner of Bayard, Neb.; three sons, Gene and Becky Schreiner of Torrance, Dana and Janice Schreiner of Nampa, Darcy Schreiner of Long Beach,  Calif.; five brothers, Henry and Victor Schreiner both of Middleton, Harold Schreiner of Bayard, Harry Schreiner of Denver, Colo., and Ron Schreiner of Star; two sisters, Edna Amend of Bayard, and Dolores Donahoe of Denver; three grandchildren, Malia, Michael and Nathan Schreiner.
