Perle Francis Richard, of Parma, Idaho, was born July
11, 1903, in Holton, Kansas, and passed away in a Payette
nursing home on May 28, 1996. Perle was the son
of Henry and Margaret Richard, and was one of 14 children.
He married Florence L. Maynard on August 10, 1927, in
Sabetha, Kansas. Florence preceded him in death in 1978, and
Perle missed her greatly. Perle is
survived by two sisters, Margaret Wetchinsky and Mildred
Zerr, both of Denver, Colorado; one brother, Henry "Bud"
Richard of Horton, Kansas; his three sons, Johnnie F.
Richard of Parma, Idaho, Nolan K. Richard of Alderwood
Manor, Washington, and Kenneth A. Richard of Parma, Idaho;
eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Perle was a life-time farmer and an employee of Amalgamated
Sugar Company of Nyssa, Oregon, for 24 years. Perle
was a hard worker and kept himself constantly busy, but he
always had time to offer a helping hand. He couldn't
do much in the past few years as far as physical labor, but
he kept his hands busy cracking black walnuts, a job he
seemed to enjoy. Perle was one of the few remaining
"good old boys." He thoroughly enjoyed life and
was very proud of his sons and two daughters-in-law and his
grandchildren. Perle will be deeply missed.
Graveside services are at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 1, 1996,
at the Lower Fort Boise Cemetery, Parma, Idaho, under the
direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette, Idaho.
Viewing will be at Shaffer-Jensen Funeral Home in Fruitland,
Idaho, from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, May 31, 1996; and from 8:30
to 9:30.
