Orvilla Reed

     Graveside services for Orvilla Reed, 69, Parma, who died Wednesday, Oct. 2, in the Nampa hospital of natural causes, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Parma Cemetery.  The Rev. Paul F. Evans of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Parma, will officiate under the direction of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
    Mrs. Reed was born March 23, 1916, in Indiana, the daughter of Charles D. and Elsie Bowman Vertrees.  She was raised there until moving with her family to Idaho.  They lived at Fruitland for a time and in 1930, moved to Parma.
    She married Allen B. Reed on Oct. 31, 1939, at Caldwell.  They lived in Los Angeles. Calif., for a short time and returned to the Parma area in 1941 where they have since resided.
    She was a member of the Mt. Olive Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and of the Syringa Club.  She had been active in the Jobs Daughters at Parma for many years.
    She was also a member of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Church, Parma.
    She is survived by her husband of Parma; one daughter, Julia Bartles of Boise; three brothers, Bowman Vertrees of Caldwell, Norman Vertrees of Ephrata, Wash., Calvin Vertrees of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sisters, Yulah Hopper of Caldwell and Laurel Rogers of Tacoma, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Debora Cornwell of Moscow and Randy Cornwell of Pocatello.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Emil.
    Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Idaho or the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Parma, both in care of the Dakan Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1386, Caldwell, 83606.
    Friends may call at the chapel in Caldwell Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.
