Funeral services for Howard Stanley
Coder, 33, Greenleaf farmer, will be held Wednesday
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Friends church in
Greenleaf, with the Rev. Milo C. Ross of Greenleaf in
charge. Interment will be in the Greenleaf cemetery.
Coder died Sunday in a Nampa hospital from burns received in
a home fire near Greenleaf on January 24, when a kerosene
can exploded in his hands as he attempted to pour fuel on a
fire in the kitchen stove. The flames
caused by the explosion spread so quickly that both Coder
and his five year old daughter, Barbara Clair, who was
standing near him, were enveloped in the blaze.
Barbara Clair died in a Caldwell hospital within two hours
after the accident occurred. The
survivors are his widow, Eleanor Coder; two daughters, Norma
and Joan, all of Greenleaf; his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Coder, two sisters, Fay and Joyce and one brother,
Perry, all of Elwood, Neb. Mr. Coder
was born at Elwood, Neb., on November 22, 1905 and came to
Greenleaf more than three years ago, where he has since made
his home with his family.
