From 1953 to 1959. when they settled in Rupert, he worked as a migrant farm laborer.  He retired in 1970 and they moved to Nampa in 1981.
He firmly encouraged education for all his children and was fortunate enough to have had several of them become college graduates.  He always stressed to them respect for justice and for the rights of others.
He was a member of the Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa: four sons, Alejandro, Francisco and Ricardo, all of Nampa, and Antonio, Jr., of Rupert; seven daughters, Amada Q. Perez and Maria Q. Garcia, both of Rupert, Consuelo Quilantan of Nampa, Ana Maria Q. Hawley of Phoenix, Ariz., Aurora Quilantan and Juanita Q. Ramirez, both of San Antonio, Texas, and Rosa Q.
