Funeral services for Alvin H. Reutzel, 59, Route 9, Box 303,
Caldwell, who died of natural causes Tuesday in a Caldwell
hospital, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Flahiff
Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Charles Chase of the
First United Methodist Church, Middleton. Interment
will follow in Wilder Cemetery. He
was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Moorefield, Neb. He moved
with his family to Boise in 1935. He graduated from
Star High School in 1941. He farmed until January
1943, when he enlisted in the Army, serving overseas during
World War II. He was honorably discharged in November
1945. He married Dorothy Langford in 1945. They
lived in Boise, where he was a route salesman for Eddy's
Bread Co. for seven years. He married Kathleen Horn
Titus on Aug. 26, 1964, in Winnemucca, Nev. He worked
for Black Canyon Irrigation District, Notus, for three
years, and owned and operated a dairy farm until 1972.
He began working for Kentucky Fried Chicken, Caldwell, in
1974, becoming manager in 1976. He was a member of the
Caldwell Chamber of Commerce and the United Methodist
Church, Eagle. He is survived by his
wife of Caldwell; a son, Alvin Don of Boise; two stepsons,
Steve and Gary Titus of Boise; a daughter, Alvina Rae
Hawkins of Boise; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs.
John Reutzel of Eagle; his stepfather and mother, Mr. and
Mrs. Ben Nelson of La Grande, Ore.; three brothers, Marvin
of Mountain Home, Merton of Vancouver, Wash., and Tom of
Florida; three sisters, Genevieve Hockett of Salem, Ore.,
Iona Allen of Vancouver, Wash., and Martha Gibbons of
Meridian; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews. Friends may call at the
chapel from 2 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday. Memorials may be made to the
Idaho Heart Association, 5777 Overland Road, Boise.
