Funeral
rites were conducted Friday afternoon at the Peckham-Dakan
chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. H. H. Hayman for William Woodson
Peter, 77, Homedale, who died last Wednesday at the home of
his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Richards,
Homedale. Burial was at the Wilder cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert and Hoyt Nash, Dick Helton, Leo
Bright, A. E. Murphy, and Robert Ferguson, all of Homedale.
Mr. Peter was a former school teacher
and accountant. He had taught school at Homedale,
Roswell, Caldwell, and Franklin. He served as secretary
of the Gem Irrigation district for 15 years. During the
administration of the late Gov. C. Ben Ross, Mr. Peter was
employed on the industrial accident board at Boise.
He was born in Christian county, Ill., September 29, 1870.
He had been a resident of Idaho and the Boise valley since
1907, except for a couple years which he spent in California.
Survivors are his widow Emma, Homedale; three daughters, Mrs.
Helen Richards and Mrs. Clarice Burr, Homedale, and Mrs. Lois
Nye, Ontario, Ore.; one son, Edward, Glendale, Ore.; one
brother, Ed, Taylorville, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Nash,
Homedale, and Mrs. Rolland Stevens, Taylorville, Ill.; eight
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Relatives from Oregon who attended the funeral included Mr.
and Mrs. Theodore Nye, Ontario; Mr. and Mrs. Edward C. Peter,
Glendale; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ferguson and Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Hooper, Vale. |
