Services for Nora Maurine Perkel, 61,
of Emmett, formerly of Middleton, who died Monday, March 4, in
an Emmett nursing home of natural causes, will be conducted at
1 p.m., Friday at the Middleton Second Ward Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bishop
Craig R. Baird of the Middleton Second Ward will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Wilder Cemetery under the
direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mrs. Perkel was born May 8, 1923, in Challis, to John L. and
Mabel Taylor Turner. She lived in Challis for three
years and then moved with her family to Council, where they
helped establish Mesa Orchards. She was reared and
educated at Council.
She married Sheff
White and they resided at Ontario. After Mr. White's
death, she later married Verl W. Perkel and they resided in
Wilder where they reared their children and developed the
Perkel Orchards.
She later moved
to Caldwell and lived there for several years and then to
Middleton, where she and her daughter, Mary Ann, had since
made their home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, Middleton, and was involved in
many community affairs.
She is survived
by four daughters, Norene Perkel of Boise, Mary Ann Perkel of
Middleton, Carolyn Snowdeu of Milton- Freewater, Ore., and
Janet L. Perkel, Lewiston; two sons, Murton Perkel of Emmett
and Mike Perkel of Nampa; four grandchildren, Cynthia Ireland
and Rebecca Tyon both of Fruitland and Lesa Perkel and Amanda
Perkel both of Emmett; two sisters, Violet Bybee of Resenda,
Calif., and Alice Cederburg of Eagle; four brothers, George
Turner of Moses Lake, Wash., John Turner of Greenleaf, Harris
Brooks of Royal City, Wash., and Howard Brooks of Boise; and
one great grandchild, Misty Dawn Tyon of Fruitland.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold
Turner.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 tonight
at the Dakan Chapel and noon to 12:45 p.m. Friday in the
Relief Society Room at Middleton Second Ward LDS Church. |
