Vigil services for Maye Potter, 81,
of Nampa, who died Sunday, Oct. 25, 1992, at a Homedale care
center, will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at St.
Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa. Father Paul Mathews,
S.M., will be the celebrant. A Rite of Committal will be
held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at Mount Calvary
Cemetery, Nampa. Cremation was under the direction of
Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Maye was born August 19, 1911, in Silver City, Idaho, a
daughter of David and Margaret Leahy O'Keefe. The family
moved from Silver City to Nampa in 1924 where she graduated
from Nampa High School. Maye married a local insurance
man, Donald "Pat" Potter, in 1934. She
was a life member of the Lady Elks of Nampa Lodge #1389,
B.P.O.E., Nampa, and a charter member of the Idaho Women's
Bowling Hall of Fame. Maye was also active in many
charities until failing health curtailed her activities.
She is survived by her children, Betty Webb of Concord,
Calif., Donald "Bill" Potter of Tualatin, Ore., Barbara
Golightly of Nampa; a brother, Arthur O'Keefe of Nampa; two
sisters-in-law, Marie Nineman of Richland, Wash., and Deloris
O'Keefe in Kansas; six grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961 and a
brother, Pat O'Keefe, formerly of Boise.
Memorials may be made to the Idaho Chapter of the American
Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society, or flowers
may be sent. |
