Myrtle Pierce

     Graveside services for Myrtle Pierce, 84, of Parma, were conducted at the Parma Cemetery Monday.  Mrs. Pierce died Sept. 5 at a Boise Care Center.
    She was born in Nampa, Idaho, Nov. 22, 1910, to Connie and George Frank. The family homesteaded in the Given Hot Springs area.  She married Halley Pierce in 1932.  They operated the Parma Tavern for a number of years and then continued on with farming in Parma.  Myrtle loved the simple life, her family and her animals.  She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and her family meals.
    She is survived by two sons, Bob and wife Marilyn in Troutdale, Oregon, and George and wife Virginia in Boise; two brothers, George Frank of Forrest Hills, Calif., and Gene Frank of Caldwell; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; also two nephews who were very close to her, Stan Frank of Yarnell, Arizona, and Rod Frank of Kaui, Hawaii.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Halley, her parents and two brothers.
