Marion Edna Phariss, 82, of Parma,
died Wednesday, September 29, 1993, due to injuries sustained
in a train/automobile accident near Parma. Memorial
services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 2,
1993, at the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Parma.
Dr. Ralph Marshall of Caldwell will officiate. A private
family graveside service at the Lower Boise Cemetery, Parma,
will precede the memorial service. Arrangements are
under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell-Parma.
Marion was born December 25, 1911, at
Denver, Colorado, the daughter of David and Edna Smalley.
She married Irvin Phariss January 12, 1935, in San Bernardino,
CA. She worked as a nurse until graduating from L.A. State
with a degree in Special Education in 1960. She and her
husband moved to Parma in 1962. She taught in Parma and
Roswell from 1962 to 1976. She was an
active member of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church,
Parma, Delta Kappa Gamma, D.A.R., and the Blazer Horse
Association. She is survived by a
brother, Dick Smalley of Goleta, CA; a daughter, Edna Bisby of
Parma; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judie Phariss
of-Caldwell; a granddaughter, Michelle Phariss of Pocatello; a
grandson and his wife, Todd and Margo Phariss of Moscow; and
numerous other relatives. She will be
missed by the many people who loved her and by the people
whose lives she touched. The family
suggests memorials be made to the Blind National Federation of
