Leona A. Potts, 83, of Parma, died
Saturday, February 22, 1992, at a Nampa hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February
28, 1992, at the Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma. Pastors
Kenneth Ball and Vernon Wilcox of the First Church of the
Nazarene, Nampa, will officiate, with interment following at
the Parma Cemetery. Leona was born
November 5, 1908, at Oelwein, Iowa, to Michael and Josephine
Bartholomew Regenold. When Leona was 3 the family moved
by covered wagon to Trail City, S.D. She attended school
in Trail City but had to to go Timber Lake, S.D., to attend
high school. In 1927 she married Oliver
Potts in Timber Lake; they lived in Mobridge until 1929 when
they moved to Parma, Oliver died in 1970 and Leona continued
to make her home there until Alzheimer's disease forced her to
be moved to her daughter's home in Nampa.
Leona is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Potts of Nampa,
Lettie (Potts) Huling and her husband, Marvin of Nampa; her
grandchildren, Stephen and Sheila (Rawlins) Huling of Nampa,
Mary (Huling) Bliss and her husband, Jarvis of Casper,
Wyoming; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Courtney Huling of
Nampa; a sister Juanita Berceir of Hiawatha, Iowa; many nieces
and nephews, including Keith, Eldon and Leo Bell and their
families, all of Washington state. She
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oliver
Potts, 4 infant children, 2 sisters, and a brother. |
