Harry Pitman

     Harry E. Pitman, 93, of Nampa passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 1997, surrounded by his family.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 1997, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Rev. Steve Moore will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Melba Cemetery.
    Harry E. Pitman was born on Sept. 2, 1903, in Alexandria, Nebraska.  He lived in Alexandria until he graduated from high school. The family then moved to Idaho to farm. He lived in Montana for a year where he taught school to Russian Mennonites.  He then moved to Southern California where he attended a year of pre-med school while running a landscaping business in Beverly Hills.  He then started a successful home contracting business which he ran until he moved with his family back to Idaho in 1948.  He established a cattle feeding operation with his partner, Jack Baker.  He retired in 1972.  He stayed active mentally and physically until his illness in November of 1996.
    Harry is survived by his wife, Carla Pitman, Nampa; 6 daughters, Barbara Hill, Meridian, Judith Leffler, Marsing, Dorothy Puccioni, Santa Rosa, CA, Patricia Fish, Missoula, MT, Margaret Hopkins, Melba and Wendy Nau, Star, ID; 1 step-son, Steve Grant, Star, ID and many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
    Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m.
