Services for Beulah Elizabeth Pine,
81, Melba Star Route, who died Saturday, Dec. 24, in a Nampa
hospital, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Melba
Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop
Conrad Zeyer officiating. Interment
will follow in the Melba Cemetery. Services and
interment are under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel,
Nampa. She was born Nov. 16, 1902, at
Emmett, where she was reared and educated. She married
J. Howard Pine on June 22, 1929, at Weiser. They made
their home in Emmett where she worked as an operator for
Mountain Bell Telephone Co. In 1941 they moved to
Bellingham. Wash., where she worked for the Pacific Telephone
Co. In 1949 they moved to Melba where
they have since made their home. She worked for the
Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Nampa until she retired in
1967. She was a member of the Melba Ward LDS Church, the
Walter Butte Grange 130, Melba, the Telephone Pioneers and a
past member of the Telephone Communication Workers Union.
She is survived by her husband of Melba; one son, James R.
Pine, Caldwell; three brothers, Lloyd and M.E. "Ed" Webb, both
of Melba, and Keith Webb, Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs.
Vera Dilkes, Kuna, and Mrs. Mildred Bosteder, Terra Bella,
Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Andrew
Willis Webb; an, two sisters, Lula Gardner and Clara Brumet.
