Services for
Willard E. Mills, 85, Wilder, who died Thursday, Oct. 25, at
his home as a result of injuries received in a farming
accident, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dakan
Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, by the Rev. Edward Sladek of the
Memorial Park Baptist Church, Caldwell. Interment will be at
the Wilder Cemetery
with rites by Silver City Lodge 13, A.F. and A.M., Homedale.
Mills was
born April 13, 1899, in Springbrook, Ore.,
to Zimri and Miriam Mills.
He came to Wilder in 1915 with his parents to
homestead in the Wilder area.
He married Marion
Karn, Oct. 28, 1921, in Wilder.
They farmed in the Wilder area for most of their
lives. He sold
fertilizer and drove a school bus.
Mills was very
active with his family, church, community and the Silver
City Lodge 13 A.F. and A.M.
He is survived by
a brother, Marks Mills of Newberg, Ore.; three sons, Lewis
and Trulah Mills of Emmett, Zim and Maizie Mills, and Rollin
and Audrene Mills of Boise; three daughters, Barbara and
Jack Coles of Parma, Margaret and Dwayne Wilton of Marsing
and Carol and Elden Leavitt of Meridian; 25 grandchildren,
20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded
in death by his wife and a son, Roy.
