Rose Mazanec

    Rose Mazanec, 91, of Middleton, died Thursday, August 18, 1994, at a Nampa Care Center after a brief illness.
    Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, August 22, 1994, at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel Caldwell.  A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 1994, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Enrique Terriquez officiating.  Burial will follow at the Middleton Cemetery, Middleton, Idaho.
    Mrs. Mazanec was born March 11, 1903, at Brainard, Nebraska, a daughter of Frank and Helen Novacek Kobza.  She was raised and educated in Brainard.  Rose married Fred W. Mazanec on September 18, 1920 at Goodland, Kansas and the couple located in Colby, Kansas until moving to Middleton, Idaho in 1937.  She retired from Simplot in 1968 after 26 years of employment.
    Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
    Survivors include her children, Francis and his wife Mary Ellen of Fort Myers, Florida; Olga and her husband, Clyde Eldore of La Conner, Washington; Leonard of Middleton; and Donald and his wife, Patricia of Kingsbury, California; a sister, Lillian Urbanowsky of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother, Emil Kobza of Brainard, Nebraska; a daughter-in-law, Mildred Mazanec of Harwich, Massachusetts, 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred; a daughter, Joann and a son, Warren.
