Orville Obendorf
Orville W. Obendorf, 74, of Parma, died Sunday, Dec. 23,
1990, at a Nampa nursing home. Funeral services will
be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Wilder United
Methodist Church. The Rev. Ramiro Cruz-Ahedo will
officiate. Private interment will be at the Wilder
Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the
Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mr.
Obendorf was born March 15, 1916, at Parma, to George and
Edith Trout Obendorf. He was raised in the Parma area
and graduated from Wilder High School. He attended
college for two years, after which he began working for
Morrison Knudsen Co. in the Pacific. He also was
involved in bridge contruction in Korea with M-K until 1946
when he returned to Parma and began farming. He
married Nellie V. Dorsey, July 3, 1950. They resided
and farmed in the Parma/Wilder area until moving to Nampa in
November 1986. Mrs. Obendorf passed away June 27,1987.
Mr. Obendorf was very active in the
Wilder School sports programs and served on the Wilder
School Board for 17 years. He was a member of the
Caldwell Elks Lodge No. 1448 and the Fraternal Order of
Eagles, Aerie No. 2253, Parma. He is
survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Bill Graves
of Nampa; a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and April Obendorf
of Elko, Nev.; two sons, Jerry Obendorf of Nampa and Ron
Obendorf of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a daughter, Jan Westrum of
Seattle; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Obendorf of Marsing;
two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Dorolene Obendorf
and Bernard and Helen Obendorf of Parma; a sister and
brother-in-law, Marie and Kenneth Harris of Madras, Ore.;
and nine grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Nellie.
Mr. Obendorf's family suggests memorials be made to the
Wilder United Methodist Church or to Mountain States Tumor
Institute, Boise.
