Oscar Pearson
Services for Oscar E. Pearson, 88, of Route 1 Melba, who
died Thursday, May 31, in a Nampa hospital, will be
conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in the Alsip Funeral Chapel.
The Rev. J. Harley Adams, pastor of the Melba Friends
Church, will officiate. Interment with graveside rites
by the Melba I.O.O.F. Lodge 150 will follow in the Melba
Cemetery. Mr. Pearson was born June
6, 1895, in Ivanhoe, Minn., where he was reared and
educated. After his schooling he moved to Colorado.
He married Morna Belle Cogdill Sept. 21, 1921, in Craig,
Colo. They later homesteaded near Craig until 1927,
when they moved to Idaho and settled in the Melba area where
they farmed. He retired from farming in 1955.
Mrs. Pearson died Dec. 6, 1978 and he had resided in Melba
since. Mr. Pearson attended the Melba Friends Church
and was a member of the Melba I.O.O.F, Lodge 150 and a
member of the Melba Grange. He
is survived by one son, Oscar F. "Bud" Pearson, Gooding; two
daughters, Mrs. Veil (Roberta) O'Dell, Kuna and Mrs. Edna B.
Freelan, Nampa; seven grandchildren, Glen O'Dell, Melba,
Gary O'Dell. Olympia, Wash., Mike Pearson, Gooding, Diane
Stucky, Moundridge, Kan., John Wood, Nampa, Gayle Nye,
Boise, and Jodi Adamson, Nampa; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Melba
Park. Friends may call at the Alsip
Funeral Chapel Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday from 9
a.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to service time.
