Mabel Nichols
Mabel Leona Tish Nichols, 79, of Caldwell, died Monday, Aug.
19, 1996, at the Caldwell hospital. Funeral services
will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 212, at the
Caldwell Ustick Road Nazarene Church, 814 W. Ustick. Rev.
Brian Dyer will officiate. Burial will follow at the
Greenleaf Cemetery. Services are under the direction
of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Mabel was born July 23, 1917, in Caldwell, to Ira O. and
Mary R. Woodcock Tish. She married George W. Nichols
Sept. 8, 1942. Mabel was a registered nurse for 36
years. She was also in ministry with her husband for
30 years with the Church of the Nazarene. They
pastored in Boise, Colville, Wash., St. Manes, Idaho,
Hermiston, Ore., Chelan, Wash., Cheney, Wash., Spokane,
Wash., and Milton Freewater, Ore. In 1975 they retired
and moved to Greenleaf where Mabel had grown up.
Survivors include her husband, George of Caldwell; son,
Terry Nichols of Caldwell; a daughter, Mary Lou and her
husband, Ken Plopper of Kennewick, Wash.; 2 grandsons, Brian
and Theron Plopper and granddaughter, Deandra Nichols; a
great-granddaughter, Breanna Plopper; a brother, Oral Tish
of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Anna Mills of Greenleaf; and
numerous nieces and nephews. She was
preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Margaret
Evans. Friends may call at Dakan
Funeral Chapel today from 4 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Ustick Church of the Nazarene.
