Merle Myers
Merle D. Myers, 101, of Nam-pa,
and formerly of Kuna, died Sunday, Sept. 29, 1991, at a
Nampa retirement center. Graveside
services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at
Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. Pastor
Steve Wolff of the Kuna First United Methodist Church will
officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of
Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Mrs.
Myers was born Oct. 11, 1889, at Cushing Neb., a daughter of
John and Ella Boyle Welch. She received her education
in Nebraska. She married Carl W. Myers March 21, 1910,
at St. Paul, Neb. They resided in Nebraska until 1936,
at which time they moved to Nampa. She had served as a
homemaker her entire married life. Mr. Myers died in
1967. Merle was recently recognized in
the Idaho 100 book on her 100th birthday.
Survivors include three daugh-ters, Eula Sundell of
Meridian, Lenna Trine of Denver, Colo., and Jean Van
Schoiack of Kuna; a son, Donald Myers of Provo, Utah; 10
grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous
great-great-grandchildren. In
addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a
son, John; her parents; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to a favorite
charity, or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call today until 9 p.m., and Wednesday from 8
a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
