Kleta Myra
Ockerman Pedersen

Kleta M. Pedersen, 61, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, May 3, 1996, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the Parma Ward Chapel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Burial will follow in the Parma Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Kleta was born Nov. 18, 1934, at Riverside, Idaho, to Darrel P. and Lula Adams Ockerman.  She attended schools in Olympia and Longview, Wash.  Kleta graduated from Brigham Young University, where she met her husband and sweetheart, John Thomas Pedersen.  They were married on June 28, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They are the parents of six children and 14 grandchildren.  Kleta and John resided in California, Washington, Arizona, Utah and Boise, before moving to Parma in 1973 where they owned Pedersen Insurance.  Besides working at the agency with her husband, she was active in the community and local schools.  She was a member of the local library board for many years.
Kleta was a member of the LDS Church and served in many ward and stake positions, including Nyssa Stake Young Women's president, and most recently as a Boise Temple worker.
She loved reading and was always expanding her education.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed many dear friendships.  Her greatest source of love and pride was her family.  She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her, and her presence will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, John; four sons and their wives, Chris and Laura Pedersen, Kevin and Amby Pedersen, Jeff and Wendy Pedersen, and Matt and Belinda Pedersen; two daughters and their husbands. Jan and Scott Norton, and Jill and Dan Nielsen; mother, Lula Sorensen; brother, Dee Ockerman; three sisters, Rosalie Cranford, Marilyn Segger and Sharon Taylor; 14 grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Chase, Kaitlyn, Morgan, Stacia, Holli, Kate, Nicole, Brianne, Zane, Steven, Bobby and Amber.  She was preceded in death by her father, Darrel P. Ockerman.
