Justo Mendiola

    Justo Mendiola, 58, entered into eternal peace Nov. 8, 1995, at his home in Meridian, after an extended battle with cancer.  Rosary in memory of Justo will be celebrated 7 p.m. Sunday Nov. 12, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa.  Mass of Christian burial will be con-celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday Nov. 13, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Alfred Puccinelli, S. M., pastor and the Rev. Father Carlos Perez, of our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, con-elebrating.  Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa, under the direction of Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Justo was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Baldatica-Lumo, Viscaya, Spain, a son of Juan Mendiola and Matea Ordorica.  In 1962 Justo came to the United States to work in the sheep industry.  He spent six years with Gue Malaxa in Enterprise, Oregon, and nine years with Basil Aldecoa in Marsing.  He then worked two years with Missouri Meat and after meeting Tom Bevins Sr., Justo spent six years working at Meridian Meat & Sausage.
    On March 18, 1978, Justo married Kathleen Elizabeth Eiguren in Elko, Nevada, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, making their home in Meridian.  Justo worked for H. H. Keim Co., as a meat cutter.  In 1987 Justo began working for Iowa Beef Meat Processors where he worked for four years until becoming ill with cancer in 1991.
    Justo enjoyed people, shearing sheep, baking bread and making chorizos.  He loved working with his cows and a few sheep on the family farm.
    He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, and daughters, Maria, Luisa, and Nerea; a brother, Ignacio and sister-in-law Josephina Mendiola; aunt, Emeteria Jayo and her husband Luis, all of Boise; mother, Matea Ordorica; a brother, Raimundo and wife Isabel; two sisters, Esperanza Mendiola and her husband, Juan Bilbao, Lourdes Mendiola and husband Jose Luis Echevarria, all of Viscaya, Spain.  Justo is also survived by his in-laws Fred and Isabel Eiguren of Arock, Or., numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews, and cousins in the United States and Spain.
    Justo was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa and Euzkaldunak, Inc. of Boise.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Juan; one brother, Antonio; aunt Maria Ordoica; and uncle Ramon Ordorica.
