Rosary for Jose (Joe) Monasterio, 80, 1615 Eighth Street South, Nampa, who died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1983, at a Nampa nursing home, will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa, by the Rev. James L. Pratt, S.M.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
    He was born Dec. 18, 1902, at Artia, Viscaya, Spain, and was reared there.  He came to the United States in the early 1920's and, for a time, lived in Utah and worked as a miner.
    He moved to the Boise-Nampa area in 1926 and engaged in construction work and in sheep ranching.  He retired in 1969 and had since resided in Nampa.  He had never married.  He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
    He is survived by two brothers, Jesus and Esequiel Monasterio, both of Artia, Spain; one sister, Maria Monasterio; Artia, Spain, and several nieces and nephews.  His parents preceded him in death.
    Pallbearers will be Richard Gabica, Joe Gabica, Jess Gabica, Emilio Calzacorta, Elias Jaca and Joe Bermensolo.  Friends may call at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa from 1 until 9 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
