Janis Moon
Services for Janis Ann Moon, 55, of Melba, who died Tuesday,
Dec. 1, at the Nampa hospital, will be held at 1 p.m. Monday
at the Melba Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Christensen of the Kuna 4th
Ward LDS Church
will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Melba
Cemetery, under the direction of the Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mrs. Moon was born Nov. 20, 1932, at Elsinore, Utah, where she
was reared and educated until her sophomore year of high
school, when she moved with her family to
Nampa.
She graduated from Nampa High School
in 1951. She
married Hyrum Moon June 1, 1951, in the
Salt Lake City
LDS Temple.
They made their home in Riverside, Idaho,
for the first year of their marriage.
In 1952, they moved to
Nampa, where they farmed for several
years. In 1959, they
moved to Melba area, where they purchased a farm and had
since resided.
She was an active member of the Kuna 4th
Ward LDS Church.
She held various positions within the church,
including Primary president.
She had also served in the Young Women's presidency.
She was the ward's nursery leader at the time of her
death. She is
survived by her husband of Melba; a son, Kim Moon of Melba ;
two daughters, Jill Christensen and Cherie Wood, both of
Melba; her father, Clarence Barney of Nampa ; two brothers,
Kent Barney of Meridian and Scott Barney of Richland, Wash.;
14 grandchildren; two nieces who had lived with her, Pam
Price of Meridian and Wendy Millar of Orem, Utah; and
several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her mother, Myrtle Barney, and a sister, Mavis
Ward.

Nampa. The family will greet friends
today from 8 to 10 p.m.
