Services for Inez T.
O'Brien, 73, Melba, who died Wednesday. Sept. 19, at her
home of natural causes, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the
Melba Community Baptist Church. Dr. Fred W. Knight
will officiate. Burial will follow in the Melba
Cemetery. Mrs. O'Brien, a homemaker,
was born Sept. 12, 1911, at Childress, Texas, a daughter of
John Richard and Alena Sudduth Taylor. She was reared
and educated in Texas and Oklahoma and at age 15 moved to
Colorado. She was a telephone operator for several
years. She married Edward Joseph
O'Brien on Sept. 15, 1934, at Denver, and they made their
home in that area. She worked at an ammunition plant
during World War II and later was a real estate broker for
several years. Thereafter, she traveled throughout the
United States as a booking agent for Picadilly Portraits.
She retired and moved to Dayton, Wash., in 1972, then to the
Melba area in 1977. She was a member of the Melba
community Baptist Church and of the Royal Neighbors of
America. She is survived by a son,
Harvey Paul O'Brien of Waquoit, Mass.; a daughter, Patricia
Ann Mikelson of Melba; two brothers, James Henry Taylor of
Houston, Texas, and Roy Taylor of San Jose, Calif.; a
sister, Nynva Bleier of Calpella, Calif.; four grandsons,
one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Building
Fund at Melba Community Baptist Church, or flowers may be
sent. Friends may call at the Flahiff
Funeral Chapel of Nampa from 1 to 9 p.m. tonight and from 9
a.m. until noon Monday, and after 1 p.m. at the church.
