Irene
Moberly
Irene Moberly Services for Irene N. Moberly, 84, of
Middleton, who died Sun-day, Dec. 4, in a
Caldwell
hospital, will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Middleton United
Methodist
Church.
The
Rev. Charles Chase will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Middleton Cemetery, under the direction of Flahiff
Funeral Chapel of Caldwell.
She was born
Sept. 16, 1899, at Boise, a daughter of Robert
and Mary Kincaid.
She attended school at Eagle and the Weiser Institute.
She
married Emmett L. Cate on Oct. 16, 1918, at
Boise.
They made their home in Texas.
Mr. Cate died in
Texas
in 1926. She
returned to Idaho where she married
Lonn Melvin Moberly in 1928 at Middleton.
He died in 1955.
She was a member of the United
Methodist
Church in Middleton where
she was active as a Sunday school superintendent and
teacher, a choir member, and played the piano for many
years. She taught
piano for many years.
She taught piano lessons until retiring in June of
1983. She was
a member of the Grange 6, Middleton, and worked as treasurer
and clerk for the Village of Middleton
for 19 years. She
had also served as clerk for the school board for 2 1/2
years. She is
survived by six sons, John W. Cate of
Chehalis, Wash., Richard Cate of Middleton, Dr. William
B. Cate of Bellevue, Wash., J. Howard Moberly of Anchorage,
Alaska, Verle D. Moberly of Salt Lake City and Lewis Moberly
of Payette: 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters and a
granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel of
Caldwell Wednesday from 1 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be
made to the Middleton United Methodist
Church building fund.
