Helen Patterson
 
  Helen Clara Patterson, 86, of Nampa, formerly of Boise, died Tuesday, November 24, 1992, at the Nampa hospital.  Memorial funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, at the Southminster Presbyterian Church, 6500 Overland Rd., Boise. Rev, Donald Shrumm, pastor of the church will officiate, assisted by Rev. John Pickrell of Boise.  Private family interment will follow in Parma.  Services are : under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
    Helen Clara Patterson was born on Oct. 9, 1906, at Cairo, Nebraska, to Arthur and Minnie Shoopman Randolph.  She was reared and educated in Nebraska.  After her schooling she attended Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska, and later taught school in Nebraska.  She married Leonard L. "Pat" Patterson on May 12, 1928, at Kearney, Nebraska.  Mr. Patterson entered the ministry and they traveled throughout Nebraska.  They moved to Denver in 1944.  In 1949 they moved to Arizona and pastored in Flagstaff and Phoenix.  They moved to Fullerton, California in 1961.  They retired in 1973 and moved to the Boise area where they made their home.  Helen and her husband started a new church in Phoenix and one in Boise, the Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Helen loved gardening, playing the organ and being near her family.
    She was a member of the Boise Southminster Presbyterian Church and the PEO, Chapter BN in Boise.
    She is survived by her husband, Rev. Leonard L. "Pat" Patterson, Nampa; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Dean E. and Linda Patterson Kennewick, Washington; 2 brothers, Carl Randolph, Nampa John W. Randolph, Kearney Nebraska; 1 sister, Mary Samp Nampa; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, William R. Patterson, and 1 daughter, Mary Louise Patterson.  The family suggest memorial contributions to the Southminster Presbyterian Church.
