Funeral services for Fern G. Nugent, 97, of Caldwell, who died Thursday, July 26, 1990, at a Caldwell nursing home, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.  Her grandson, the Rev. Jerry McFarland will officiate.  Burial will follow at Parma Cemetery, Parma.
    Mrs. Nugent was born May 31, 1893, at Stillwater, Okla., where she was reared and educated.  She married Otis Edward Nugent in August 1911 at Stillwater.  The couple made their home there where they farmed.  They moved to Magic Valley, Idaho, in 1916 and to Canyon County in 1927 where they continued farming until Mr. Nugent's death in June 1954.  She then moved to Caldwell where she had since resided.
    She welcomed her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren with big smiles and open arms.   She also enjoyed gardening.
    She was a member of the Followers of Christ.
    She is survived by three sons, Lyle E. of Seattle, Gale M. of Payette and Keith L. of San Diego, Calif.; seven daughters, Lena C. Knutson and Ellen M. Codr, both of Nampa, Audrey I. Sparks of Boise, Geneath D. Sparks and Betty F. Lawrence, both of Caldwell, Lillian E. Kline of Meridian, and Joanne Burley of Fruitland; a half brother; five half sisters; 43 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by two children, two brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
