Eugene Larue Mesenbrink, of
Caldwell, went
to be with the Lord on October 25, 1992.
He was 65.
Funeral services
will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 1992, at the
First
Baptist Church,
Caldwell.
Pastor Richard Shaw
will officiate. Interment
will follow at the Wilder Cemetery.
Services are under
the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Gene was born to
John and Dorothea Mesenbrink, July 7, 1927, in
Harlem,
Montana.
His family moved to Moyie Springs, Idaho
where he lived most of his childhood.
He attended Buckhorn
school and graduated from Bonner's Ferry High School
in the spring of 1944 at the age of 16.
After spending a
year at the
University
of Idaho,
Gene enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II and
the Korean Conflict. He
returned to north Idaho following his honorable discharge from
the service.
Gene married Mary Ellen Boles, his friend, lover and
lifelong companion, on June 22, 1953.
After he completed
heavy equipment operator's school, they moved to
Grants Pass,
Oregon, where he worked as a heavy
equipment operator for 16 years.
While in Grants Pass,
the accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior, and served as a
Sunday School teacher and usher at the Redwood Country Church.
Gene and Mary moved
their family to Caldwell, Idaho,
in 1972 where he was self-employed as an electrician.
He has faithfully
attended the Caldwell First Baptist
Church during this time.
Gene loved
the Lord and raised his children in the love of Jesus
Christ. He taught his children to appreciate the beauty of
God's creation through fishing, hunting and gardening.
Gene worked hard all
of his life and demonstrated the importance of doing things
right the first time.
He is survived by many family members, including
his wife, Mary; his children, Doris and Dave Paulsen of
Wilder, Karl and Kathi Jo Mesenbrink of Boise, Tim and Jill
Mesenbrink of Boise and Mara Skov of San Francisco; his
mother, Dorothea Mesenbrink of Moyie Springs; his brothers,
Rene, Herman and Joe Mesenbrink, all of Moyie Springs; six
grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded
in death by his father, John A. Mesenbrink, and his son,
Jeffrey Mesenbrink.
His family asks that memorials be sent in the name of
Eugene Mesenbrink to The Gideons or to the charity of your
choice.

from 3 to 8 p.m. today.
