Earl Owen
Services for Earl Douglas Owen, 84, Middleton, who died
Monday, Feb. 20, in a Boise nursing home, will be conducted
at 11 a.m. Thursday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Caldwell.
The Rev. Charles Chase of the
Middleton First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Middleton Cemetery with lodge
rites by the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge 39, AF & AM, Caldwell.
He was born Sept. 17, 1899, at
Caldwell, the eldest child of Leon and Mary Owen. The
family moved to Middleton in 1901 where they homesteaded.
He graduated from Middleton High School and married Helen
Crockett of Middleton in 1927. He worked for Sam
Little Livestock Co. and the U.S. Forest Service prior to
going to work for Idaho Power Co. in 1926. He retired
as a substation operator in 1965. He
was a member of Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge 39, Caldwell, and
the El Korah Shriners. He was on the Middleton City
Council for 12 years and served as mayor of Middleton for
eight years. He is survived by his
wife of Middleton; a son, Richard of South Laguna Beach,
Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Earlyne) Roark of Boise;
three sisters, Wilma Davis of McCall, Virginia Brandt of
Nyssa, Ore., and Zeda Gray of Nampa; a brother, Roger Owen
of Meridian; two grandsons, Paul Owen of Moscow and Robert
Roark of Boise; and two granddaughters, Eve DeLeon Guerreo
of Boise and Rebecca Roark of Littleton, Colo.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Memorials may be made to the Middleton First United
Methodist Church building fund.
Friends may call at the Flahiff Chapel of Caldwell on
Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m.
