‘Dee’ Mitchell
Delos "Dee" Mitchell, 87, of Nampa, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1994, at a Nampa care center.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
Friday, Jan. 7, 1994, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Rev. Larry Crisp of the Nampa First Christian Church will
officiate. Private
family interment will follow.
Dee Mitchell was
born Nov. 25, 1906, at
Union, Oregon,
to John and Hazel Hoke.
In 1923 she moved to Kuna with her parents where she
was reared and educated, graduating from
Kuna High School.
She later graduated from Albion Normal School.
She married Lester J. Mitchell on May 14, 1927, in
Nampa, where they made their home.
From this union, two daughters were born.
Dee was a life member of the Nampa First Christian Church.
She was also Past President and Charter Member of the
Nampa Lady Elks, past member of the Bennett Community Club
and Past President of the Nampa Womans Century Club.
Her greatest love was for her family and her
grandchildren. Many
will remember Dee for her beautiful flowers and garden.
She is survived
by her husband of 67 years, Lester J. Mitchell, Nampa; 2
daughters, Marlene Colley, Nampa, Joan Lenz and her husband
Ray, Melba; 2 sisters, Mick Shaver, Nampa, June Brown,
Joseph, Oregon; 3 grandchildren, Bob Lenz and his wife
Deberea, Cordova, Alaska, Mike Lenz and his wife Cyndi,
Melba, Susan Muchow and her husband Devin, Melba; 10
great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by her parents, 1 sister and 1 brother.
The family
suggests memorial contributions to the Idaho Youth Ranch.
