Graveside
services for Allen L. Mendenhall, 86, of 620 10th Ave. So.,
Nampa, who died Saturday, April 2 at his home,
will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Middleton Cemetery.
Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. at
the Nampa Community Church of God with Pastor Norman Archer
of the church, officiating, assisted by Pastor Jim Chandler.
Services are under
the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel.
He was born on
July 2, 1896 at Princeton, Idaho
where he was reared and educated.
He served in the
U.S. Army during W.W.I. He
was married to Gertrude Johnson on Sept. 26, 1926 at Lewiston. Following
their marriage they made their home for a few years in
Northern Idaho.
They lived in Middleton for 20 years.
They later lived in
Portland,
Ore., and Frazier Park,
Calif.
In 1966 they moved to Nampa where they had since
resided. He worked
in the lumber industry for many years.
He was a member of
the Nampa Community Church of God, an honorary member of the
W.C.T.U. and a member of the War Eagle Barracks No. 459
Veterans of W.W.I.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; two sons, Ray
Mendenhall, Nampa and Gerald Mendenhall, Portland, Ore.;
three daughters, Mrs. Mary Wright, Portland, Mrs. Iris Goff,
Aurora, Ore., and Mrs. Annie Beazel, Quartz Hill, Calif.;
one brother, Clinton Mendenhall, Moscow, Idaho; three
sisters, Mrs. Sarah O'Brien, Bethany, Okla., Mrs. Millie
King, Paeroa, New Zealand and Mrs. Hester Morton, Slave
Lake, Alberta, Canada; 21 grandchildren and 12
great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call
at the Alsip Funeral Chapel Monday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
