Robert Marquez

    Rosary for Robert T. Marquez, 42, 1201 W. Hays St., Boise, who died Thursday at a Boise hospital, will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Monday at the Catholic Community of North Nampa Church, 1203 Seventh St., North by The Rev. Mauricio Medina.  Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
    Marquez was born Jan, 14, 1939 at Torrington, Wyo., and moved with his family to Nampa in 1953.  He graduated from Nampa High School in 1958.  He served with a local National Guard unit for several years and later worked for the Idaho State Horse Racing Association for a time.  He became an Idaho State Police officer in 1974.  At the time of his death he held the rank of corporal and worked as a communications officer.
    He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa, and of the Idaho Peace Officers' Association.
    Marquez is survived by two sons, Robert, Wenatchee, Wash., and James, Albuquerque, N.M.; his mother, Ruth Marquez, Nampa; two brothers, Tony, Hermiston, Ore.; and John, Auburn, Wash.; ten sisters, Virginia Chavez, Caldwell; Gloria Santos, Elmira, Calif.; Josephine Salinas, Nampa; Mary Ann McNeill, Sparks, Nev.; Linda Gibbs, Boise; Margaret Sevy, Pocatello; Betty Sexton, Juneau, Ala.; Sandra Villines and Dolores Marquez, both of Nampa; and Cindy Knudsen, Boise; one grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his father.
    Friends may call at the mortuary today from 11 a.m., until 9 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
