Martha Martinez

    Martha L. Martinez, 70, of Nampa, died Friday, Feb. 7, 1992, at a Nampa hospital.  Vigil services will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Nampa, by the Rev. Francis Springer, S.M.  Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.
    Mrs. Martinez was born June 14, 1921, at Belen, N. Mex., a daughter of Conception "John" and Rosa Knapp Lopez, and moved with her family to Torrington, Wyo., where she grew up and attended school.  Thereafter, she came to the Treasure Valley area.  Martha married Robert Martinez in November 1951, in Caldwell where they lived for 18 months prior to moving to Nampa where she had since resided.  She had worked for brief periods for the Idaho Potato Growers, Rogers Brothers Seeds, Simplot's Foods, Caldwell, Ankeny's and for Bernie Weitz.
    She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
    Survivors include her husband, Robert, of Nampa; a son Tony Martinez of Nampa; two brothers, Charlie Lopez of Rockford, Ill., Jake Lopez of Nampa; six sisters, Carmen Martinez of Boise, Helen Antunes of Nampa, Lois Godinez of Hermiston, Ore., Lola Silva of Casper, Wyo., Lillian Lasez of Denver, Colo., and Dorothy Gonzalez of Nampa; twenty-three grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded it death by her parents and a brother.
