Mabel was born August 31, 1908, in Colby, Kansas, a daughter of John W. and Celia G. Wilson Wade.  The family moved to Burley and on to Bellevue before settling on a farm south of Nampa.  There she met and married George F. Martineau, Jr. on January 6, 1927, at Twin Falls.  They spent all their married life on their farm in Deer Flat where she lived until her death.  After raising her eight children and helping on the farm she finally had time for herself.  She and John bought a travel trailer and enjoyed traveling for sixteen years.  John died in 1980 after 53 years of marriage.
She enjoyed fishing and bowling and she even has several trophies to show for it.  Mabel remained true to her Atlanta "Braves" while crocheting beautiful afghans that many of her grand and great-grandchildren have received and will always treasure.  She played a mean game of  Scrabble and Upwords.
Survivors include tour sons and three daughter-in-laws, Wayne and Betty Martineau, of Riverside, CA; Gary and Kay Martineau, of Nashville, Tenn.; Rick Martineau, of Boise, Idaho; Ron and Evon Martineau, of Nampa; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Doly and Bert Parker, of La Jolla, CA; Cindy and Dick King, of Glenns Ferry; Alene Martineau, of Nampa; one daughter-in-law, Betty Martineau, of Nampa; 28 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, LaVern and his daughter, Diane Moody, two great-great-grandchildren, four brothers, Guy, Kenneth, Vertie and Herb Wade and one sister, Ruth Leigh.
The family is especially grateful to the loving home care daughter Alene provided and Fran Robinson for her special visits bringing communion and treats each week.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Medical Center Services.
