Services for
Miriam Nan McCracken, 61, of Middleton, who died Monday,
Oct. 13, at home of natural causes, will be held at 10 a.m.
Thursday at the
Middleton
United
Methodist
Church.
The Rev. Mark
Johnson will officiate. Burial
will follow at the Middleton Cemetery,
under the direction of the Flahiff Funeral Chapel,
Caldwell,
Mrs. McCracken was born April 18, 1925, to Charles
and Harriett Roselle Passmore at Wayne, Kan.,
and she was reared and educated in that area.
She moved to the Belleville, Kan.,
area, where she worked for the Bell Telephone Co. as office
manager. She
married Wendell McCracken Jan. 24, 1944, at
Belleville.
They lived there
until October 1947, when they moved to Middleton. In 1955,
they moved to the Idaho Falls area, where she worked as a
hostess at the Flamingo Restaurant.
They moved to
Caldwell
in 1964 and to the Middleton area in 1965.
She worked at the
J.R. Simplot Co. for several years.
She enjoyed
reading, oil painting, traveling, cooking, pets and people.
She was a member of
the Middleton
United
Methodist
Church and VFW Auxiliary
Caldwell Post No. 3886. She
had served as a cub scout den mother, was involved in the
PTA, and belonged to a Bible study group.
She is survived
by her husband of Middleton; a son, Charles McCracken of
Pocatello; two daughters, Gerry Denman of
Boise and Wendy Miller of
Nampa; a brother, Clyde Passmore of
Idaho Falls; three grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded
in death by a brother.
Memorials may he made to the Middleton United
Methodist
Church
building fund; or to the Mountain States Tumor Institute,
151 E. Bannock, Boise.
Friends may call
at the Caldwell Flahiff chapel today from 2 to 8 p.m.
