Ida McKowen

    Ida E. McKowen, 87, of Nampa, died Sunday, June 24, 1990, at the Nampa hospital.  The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.  Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa.  The Rev. Merle J. Fisher, S.M., of St. Paul's Catholic Church will officiate.
    Miss McKowen was born Aug. 12, 1902, at Wamego, Kan., a daughter of William H. and Emma E. Pinnick McKowen.  She grew up and was educated in Kansas. She moved to Alliance, Neb., in 1941 where she lived with the Francis Todd family and cared for the Todd children.  She later worked as a CSA technician at St. Joseph Hospital.  She came to Nampa in 1948 to again join the Todd family and went to work at Mercy Hospital in the same job until she retired.  She continued to live with the Todd family for several years until entering a care center.
    She was a member of M. Paul's Catholic Church.
    Survivors include four nieces, Harriett Phillips of Moscow, Idaho, Bernadine Wolf of Grass Valley, Ariz., Velma Wilson and Mary Turner, both of Wamego, Kan., and a nephew, Carl Mensch of Denver, Colo.
    She was preceded in death her parents and three sisters.
    Memorials may be made to Paul's Catholic Church or flowers may be sent.
    Friends may call until 9 a.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, and may meet at the cemetery for services on Thursday.
