George A. McGehee, 76, of Nampa, died Saturday, Aug. 3,
1991, at his home, after a long battle with cancer. Vigil
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the Alsip
Funeral Chapel, Nampa. Graveside services will be held at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, at the Mount Calvary Cemetery,
Nampa, with Father Francis Springer of St. Paul's Catholic
Church officiating.
Mr. McGehee was born June 6, 1915, to Miles and Sophie
Mieners McGehee at Granite, Okla., where he was reared and
educated. In 1936 he moved to the Los Angeles, Calif. area
where he met Clara Dinelago. George and Clara were married
at Las Vegas, Nev., May 30, 1941, and they made their home
in Los Angeles. In 1963 they moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho,
and in 1970 moved to Nampa where they had since resided.
George loved fishing and hunting and in his later years
enjoyed playing pool with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife, Clara of Nampa; two brothers,
Charles of Fresno, Calif. and Roger of Las Vegas; two
sisters, Marie McCurdy of Maywood, Calif. and Marge
Witherspoon of Hesperia, Calif.; a special niece, Janice and
Brad Streng; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a
sister.

Center Hospice Program, 1512 12th Ave. Road, Nampa, 83686,
or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today until 9
p.m.
